Postdocs Honored at ETS Annual Symposium
June 9, 2026
The Energy Technologies & Systems (ETS) Division held its 2nd Annual ETS Postdoc Symposium on May 22 in Building 91, bringing together postdoctoral researchers from across ETS and its affiliates for a full day of scientific presentations and discussion. The event serves as an annual forum designed to bridge the gap between cutting-edge research and effective dissemination of scientific knowledge, giving postdocs a platform to share their work with colleagues and receive recognition for their contributions.
Three postdocs were recognized with Best Presentation awards at the conclusion of the symposium:
- 1st place – Hyunwon Chu (Energy Storage Group): "Kinetic Passivation Pathways in Amorphous Oxyhalide Electrolytes for Extended Lithium Batteries"
- 2nd place – Kristofer Meehan (Laser Technologies Group): "Towards Free Space Plasma Reflectors for Enhanced Standoff Detection of Nuclear Activities"
- 3rd place – Saurabh Awasthi (Laser Technologies Group): "Toward Autonomous Discovery of Adaptive Metasurfaces for Infrared and Terahertz Systems"
Congratulations to all presenters and especially to this year's award recipients.
